Shirley Zimmerman

Shirley S. Zimmerman, 86, of Millmont, entered into rest at 5:19 a.m., Sunday, August 25, 2019, at Riverwoods, Lewisburg.

She was born October 16, 1932, near Winfield, a daughter of the late John F. and Clara E. (Green) Smith.   Shirley’s companion of over 52 years, George L. Bartlett, survives.

Shirley worked for over 30 years at Laurelton Center in the Dietary Department.

She was a member of the Union County Sportsmen’s Club, Weikert, and a life member of the Mifflinburg American Legion Post 410.

Surviving in addition to her companion, are one daughter, Diana Koonsman of Middleburg; George’s two son, whom she raised, Dave Bartlett of New Berlin and Steve Bartlett of Virginia; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert L. Smith, and Howard S. Smith; one half-brother, Paul Smith; one half-sister, Ruth Keister; and one granddaughter.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, at the Hartleton Cemetery, with Rev. Alice Rauch, officiating.

As per Shirley’s wishes, please omit flowers.
