Shirley Mccool

Shirley M. McCool, 86, entered into rest at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, July 29, 2021, at Nottingham Village, Northumberland.

She was born July 10, 1935, in the Greenwood section of Altoona, a daughter of the late William Meehan and Verna (Weakland) Meehan Eyler.  On January 23, 1954, she married Robert H. McCool, who preceded her in death February 23, 2001.

Shirley was a 1953 graduate of Altoona Area High School.

She was employed as a book-keeper at J.E. Harshbarger Dairy, Altoona, and a staff assistant in the former Health and Physical Education Department at Penn State University. She also assisted her husband in their business, Culligan Water Conditioning/Bottled Water, State College.

Shirley was a member of Mt. Nittany United Methodist Church, State College, and the State College Area Woman’s Club.

Surviving are her children, Jean Lepley (Kenneth) of Lewisburg, Robert A. McCool of State College, Patricia Kleban (George) of Port Matilda, and Michelle Fisher of Carlisle; seven grandchildren, Alison Bennett (Noah Segan), Erin Brown (Stephen), Shannon Eggert (Jon), Jillian Kleban, Patrick Kleban, Erika Fisher, Michael Fisher; and three great grandchildren, June Segan, Theodore Brown, and Arthur Segan.

Shirley lived at Nottingham Village in Northumberland since May 2019, residing at Heather Court Memory Care and the Rehabilitation/Skilled Nursing Unit. The family wishes to thank the kind staff who cared for our mother and grandmother in such a loving professional manner, even when faced with the challenges presented by the pandemic, especially the team at Heather Court.

At Shirley’s request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Shirley M. McCool to Centre County PAWS 1401 Trout Rd. State College PA 16801.

Funeral arrangements are by Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg.
