August 23, 1921 — December 22, 2020

Vada "Mem" P. Erdley, 99, formerly of Mifflinburg, was greeted by her loving Savior at Heaven's gates at 9:10 p.m., Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at Riverwoods, Lewisburg.

She was born August 23, 1921 in Union County, a daughter of the late Lewis and Lizzie (Boney) Dorman.  She was the second youngest of ten children.

On June 28, 1942, she married Miles D. Erdley, who preceded her in death in December 21, 1965.

Vada attended Laurelton High School.

She was employed at Par-Knit, Mifflinburg, but her most important role in life was being a loving mother to her daughters.

Vada was a faithful member of the Christ Community Church, Glen Iron where she was a Sunday school teacher and choir director.  She had a profound love for reading her Bible and singing her hymns.  She is now singing in Heaven's choir.

She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, crafts, puzzles, and search a word.  You were always welcome with open arms at her place for a visit.  She was always found helping out her neighbors in her apartment building which she loved to do.

Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, MaryLou and Richard Dorman of Millmont, Ruth and Charlie Reber of Mifflinburg, and Laurie Reich of McClure; four sons-in-law, Richard Swain, Robert Weller, Donald Dorman and Douglas Reich; eighteen grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great grandchildren; and one great-great-great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by three daughters, Faith Ann Dorman, Eunice Swain, and Verna Weller; one granddaughter, Shawna Brooke; one great-granddaughter, Brittany Mook; 6 brothers; and 3 sisters.

A memorial service will be conducted privately.
