Truman R. Matters, 94, of 915 Dice Rd., Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 7:12 p.m., Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Wellspan Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
He was born October 6, 1931, in Mifflinburg, a son of the late John and Carrie (Ramer) Matters. On May 28, 1977, in New Berlin, he married the former Helen G. Vonada, who preceded him in death on October 12, 2021, after 44 years of marriage.
Truman graduated from Lewisburg High School in 1950.
He served in the US Air Force from August 28, 1950 until his honorable discharge on August 28, 1954.
Truman was employed with Capital Airline as a licensed mechanic, worked 10 years as a millwright, and 20 years at Miton Steel as a welder and fitter, until he retired in 1993.
He enjoyed traveling with Helen, and they visited 48 of the states, and Canada.
Surviving are nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Willard, Chester, Clayton, George, and Lewis Matters; and two sisters, Gertrude Wetzel, and Goldie Hackenberg.
Funeral services will be private.
