Tony A. Bennett, 64, of 510 Main Street, Hartleton, entered into rest at 3:20 p.m., Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at his current residence.
He was born May 13, 1954, in Lewisburg, son of Norma J. “Pat” (Sheesley) Bennett of Hartleton, and the late Ambrose B. Bennett. On August 7, 1976, he married the former Kathy L. Walter, who preceded him in death on January 15, 2011.
Tony was a 1972 graduate of Mifflinburg High School.
He worked at Yorktowne, Mifflinburg, for 35 years, and later at Bucknell University in custodial services, for 6 years, until he retired.
Tony was a Millmont Little League baseball coach for 7 years. He served on Borough Council and as Mayor of Hartleton for 3 decades.
Tony was a loving, dedicated and dependable son, partner, father and grandfather. He enjoyed gardening and canning, firearms and archery, and wrenching on his tractors and cars.
He has shared many good memories with friends and family involving his activities with his snowmobiles, motorcycles, his beloved Camaro, and hunting. He always enjoyed his time at the cabin. There was never a dull moment, and his stories were shared year after year. Tony was often found in the garage working on many projects, but had a special passion for bicycles, a hobby he shared with his son.
Surviving in addition to his mother, are one son and daughter-in-law, Rylan and Valerie Bennett of Lewisburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Whitney and Ryan Lloyd of Hartleton; 3 grandchildren, Milo Bennett, Bennett Lloyd, and Grace Lloyd; significant other, Tracey Beaver of Millmont; one step-son, Jeremy Beaver; and one step-grandson, Jayden Beaver.
Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday and 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, at the Christ Community Church of Glen Iron, 2746 State Route 235, Millmont, where the funeral will be conducted at 11, with Rev. Richard VonNeida, officiating.
Burial will be in the Hartleton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Tracey Beaver, 1440 Millmont Rd., Millmont, PA 17845.
