Sylvia Bierly
October 16, 1934 — October 25, 2017
Sylvia E. Bierly, of 136 Reber Rd., since 1956, went home with her Lord and Savior at 9:20 p.m., Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
She was born October 16, 1934, in Mifflinburg, a daughter of the late Adron and Clara (Pennycofe) Oberdorf. On August 23, 1950, in Mifflinburg, she married Dean L. Bierly, who preceded her in death September 9, 2009.
Sylvia was an active member of the Buffalo Valley United Methodist Church, Lewisburg.
She worked at the Milton Shoe Factory for many years, and later in life at the Mifflinburg IGA.
Sylvia enjoyed reading, crocheting, going to the Penns Creek Senior Center, and her dog, Onyx.
Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, William W. and Susie Bierly, Wayne L. and Crystal Bierly, and Glenn A. and Rita Bierly, all of Mifflinburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Shelley E. and Steve Nogle of Millmont; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Homer Oberdorf, Gordon and Joyce Oberdorf, and Abe and Pat Oberdorf, all of Mifflinburg; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Dean L. Bierly, Jr.; and one great-grandson, Noah Lucas.
There will be no public viewing. Family and friends are welcome to a time of visitation from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11, with Rev. Daniel H. Hicks, officiating.
Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery.
