Shelvia Wagner

Shelvia Jean Wagner, 83, of Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, April 21, 2024, at Riverwoods, Lewisburg. 

She was born September 6, 1940, in Kratzerville, a daughter of the late Gilbert T. and Miriam (Herman) Wagner. On October 11, 1959, she married David P. Wagner, who survives. 

Shelvia was a 1959 graduate of Lewisburg High School.

She was an avid bowler, enjoyed babysitting, spending time with her family, and riding her bike on the Rail Trail. 

Shelvia was employed at Agway, Evangelical Community Hospital, and retired from Buffalo Valley Telephone Company, Lewisburg. 

She was a member of Winfield Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her spouse of 64 years, are one daughter, Robin Steele of Selinsgrove; one sister, Tammy Wagner of New Columbia; two grandchildren, Elizabeth (Jeffrey) Poort of Pratt, Kansas, and Hannah (Matt) Soccio of Newport; three great-grandchildren, Riley, Chase, and Ross; two nephews and one niece, Gary (Janelle) Sassaman of New Columbia, Lanny Wagner of Delaware, and Betsy (Ryan) Kelchner of Milton; and five great-grandnieces and nephews, Avery, Jordan, Ashlynn, Paisley, and Beckett.

 She was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Wagner. 

 Family and friends are welcome from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, April 26, 2024 at Winfield Baptist Church, 330 State Route 304, Winfield, where the funeral will be conducted at 11, with Pastor Corey Mitchell, officiating. 

 Burial will follow in Dry Valley Cemetery, Winfield.
