Scott A. Tyson, 62, of Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 11:50 a.m., Saturday, December 20, 2025, at home.
He was born August 23, 1963, in Lewistown, a son of the late Charles F. Tyson and Norma J. (Hackenburg) Solomon. On December 7, 1985, he married the former Sharon L. (Courtney), who survives.
Scott was a 1981 graduate of Chief Logan High School, Lewistown.
He served in the Navy for 8 years until his honorable discharge in 1989. During this time, he served as military police and was a member of the honor guard.
Scott was employed as a Lieutenant at the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Allenwood, until he retired in 2021.
He was a member of the Union County Sportsmen’s Club, Weikert.
Scott enjoyed fishing, kayaking, camping, music, dancing, driving through the mountains, and was an avid Penn State fan.
He loved his dog, Axel, and dearly loved his children and grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 40 years, are one son, Ryan S. Tyson of Mifflinburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer L. and Micah Miner of Mifflinburg; one brother, David E. Tyson of Harrisburg; one sister and brother-in-law, Christina M. and Mark Wanner of Mt. Joy; and three grandchildren, Luke Tyson, Isabella Tyson, and Adelynn Miner.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Kathleen R. McCreary.
Family and friends are welcome from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, December 27, at Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Road, Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11, with Rev. Ricky Phillips, officiating.
Burial will be in the Mifflinburg Cemetery, with military honors accorded by American Legion Post 410 and VFW Post 1964, both of Mifflinburg.
