Sandy Aikey

January 25, 1954 — September 20, 2016

MIFFLINBURG – Sandy Marie Aikey, 62, of 827 Walbash Rd., since 1993, and a resident of Forest Hill since 1971, went to be with her Lord at 2:05 p.m., Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born January 25, 1954, in Sunbury, a daughter of Faye K. (Strickler) Lyons of Mifflinburg, and the late LaRue Lyons.  On December 18, 1971, in Mifflinburg, she married Randall L. Aikey, who survives.

Sandy was a 1971 graduate of Mifflinburg High School.

She was employed as a dispatcher for Ritz Trans, Mifflinburg, and earlier for her brother’s transportation company.

Sandy was a member of the Forest Hill Evangelical Methodist Church.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 45 years, are two daughters and one brother-in-law, Terri Jo Shoemaker of Mifflinburg, and Traci Lee and Will Guggenheim of Charlotte; five brothers and four sisters-in-law, Forest and Denise McClintock of Vicksburg, LaRue and Jeanie Lyons of Weikert, Randy and Joan Lyons of Millmont, Doug and Roxane Lyons of Millmont, and Les Lyons and his fiancé Tiffany Whitmoyer of Mifflinburg; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce and Henry Bartolo of Mifflinburg, and Cindy and Stan Pfirman of Penns Creek; 6 grandchildren, Alex Shoemaker, Alexsis Williams, Makenzie Shoemaker, Lily, Katie, and Emily Guggenheim; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Gordon Lyons, and Carl and Butch McClintock.

There will be no public viewing.  The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m., Saturday, at the First Church of the Nazarene, 12 E. Market St., Mifflinburg, with Pastor Brent Lenhart, officiating.

Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery.
