Sandra E. Northrup, 65, of 151 Northrup Lane, Middleburg, entered into rest at 2:40 a.m., Saturday, July 29, 2017, at her home, after a year long battle with cancer.
She was born January 16, 1952, in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late James L. and Florence (Bingaman) Fuhrman. On June 28, 1975, in Middleburg, she married George G. Northrup, who preceded her in death in March of 2000.
Sandra was a graduate of Middleburg High School and Bloomsburg University.
She was employed as a teacher in the Midd West School District at West Beaver Elementary School for 28 years.
One of her greatest joys in her life was spending time with her family, especially her great nieces and nephews. Sandra loved her cats and was a great animal lover.
Surviving are two sisters and one brother-in-law, Lila Kuhns of Middleburg, and Nancy and Mike Erdley of Northumberland; two step-sons, George Northrup of Middletown, and John Northrup and his wife Angela of Plant City, Florida; one step-daughter, Debra and her husband Fred Reichenbach of Arizona; 6 nieces and nephews, Mark Kuhns, James Fuhrman, Leslie Walter, Jamie Swartz, Philip Erdley, and Danielle Erdley; 11 great nieces and great nephews; and 7 step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Alton L. Fuhrman.
Funeral services will be conducted privately at the convenience of the family.
