Ruth Fahmer

January 16, 1944 — March 6, 2016

MIFFLINBURG – Ruth Irene Fahmer, 72, of 47 E. Maple St., for the past 27 years, entered into rest at 9:20 a.m., Sunday, March 6, 2016, at her home.

She was born January 16, 1944, in West Buffalo Township, a daughter of the late David W. and Erma M. (Edinger) Oberlin.  On June 18, 1966, at the Assembly of God Church, Mifflinburg, she married Roger W. Fahmer, who survives.  They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this June.

Ruth was a 1961 graduate of Mifflinburg Area High School and a 1966 graduate of the Zion Bible Institute, East Providence, Rhode Island.

She enjoyed genealogy, pictures and scrap books, decorating food trays, listening to music, flowers, crafts, and reading.

Surviving in addition to her husband of nearly 50 years, are two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol Ann and Leon Fish of Orangeville, and Joy Lynn and Stéphane Boutin of Wake Forest, North Carolina; two sisters, Helen E. Gessner of Mifflinburg, and Freda M. Walter of Mifflinburg; two brothers, Oren K. Oberlin of Lewisburg, and James G. Oberlin of Mifflinburg; and 10 grandchildren, Brittani, Mackenzie, and Colin Fish, Mélika, Em, Aaron, Kylee, Eman, Emmanuel, and Asher Boutin.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Jacob Boutin; and two brothers, Cpl. Ray W. Oberlin, and Earnest F. Oberlin.

Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, and 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11, with officiating ministers, James Plank and Jeff Stratton.

Burial will be in the Mazeppa Union Cemetery.
