Ronald J. Mabus, 68, of Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 2:58 a.m., Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at home.

He was born November 2, 1957, in Danville, a son of the late James W., Jr. and Marietta M. (McClintock) Mabus. On November 1, 1986, he married the former Rosalyn A. Tonart, who survives.

Ron was a 1975 graduate of Mifflinburg High School, attended College of Misericordia, and graduated from Geisinger Wyoming Valley School of Nursing in 1987.

He served in the Army from 1975 until his honorable discharge in 1997. During this time, he served in Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

Ron was employed as a Registered Nurse at the Danville State Hospital.

He was a Scoutmaster for the Mifflinburg Troop #520, member of the Combat Veteran’s Motorcycle Association Chapter 22-1, Mifflinburg American Legion Post 410, and Mifflinburg V.F.W. Post 1964.

He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, traveling with his wife and son, making kettles of soup, smoking meats, and shooting sports.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 39 years, is one son and daughter-in-law, James and Lindsay Mabus of Phoenix, Arizona; and one granddaughter, Vada Lynn Mabus, and his newest title was Pappy Ron.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
