Robert Wagner, Sr.

December 2, 1928 — August 12, 2015

MIFFLINBURG – Robert M. Wagner, Sr., 86, of 5841 Buffalo Rd., entered into rest at 1:16 p.m., Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

He was born December 2, 1928, in Milton, a son of the late James R. and Margaret A. (Young) Wagner.  On July 17, 1971, he married the former Carolyn L. Evans, who preceded him in death July 16, 2015.

Robert was a 1946 graduate of Williamsport Technical Institute.

He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Cowan, where he assisted with dinners and served as church treasurer.

Robert worked as a truck driver at various area trucking businesses for 66 years.

He was a member of the Union County Sportsmen’s Club, Weikert, was a life member of the New Ringgold Fire Company, and the Teamsters Union.

Robert enjoyed hunting and was a member of the Chestnut Flat Hunting Camp, and a life member of the National Rifle Association.  He also enjoyed camping with his family and friends, and traveling to wineries.

Surviving are five sons and four daughters-in-law, Robert M. Jr. and Sandra M. Wagner of Laurelton, Ronald M. and Jamie E. Wagner of Vicksburg, Russell M. and Michele M. Wagner of Hartleton, Richard M. and Marina Wagner of Centerport, and Roger M. Wagner of Melbourne, Florida; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward A. and Leona Wagner of Mifflinburg, Kenneth H. and Jean Wagner of Mifflinburg, David P. and Shelvia Wagner of Vicksburg, and Thomas E. and Elaine Wagner of Lewisburg; one sister, Virginia F. Libby of Dubois; 6 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter Kay C. Reed; two grandchildren, Savannah I. Wagner and Johnathan Erdley; one brother, Fred Wagner; and one sister Janet E. Milroy.

Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, and 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11, with Pastor Matthew Schuster and Pastor Lisa Schuster, officiating.
