Richard Osman

December 28, 1948 — November 14, 2016

NEW BERLIN – Richard “Rick” DeHart Osman, 67, of 144 Motter Lane, for the past 4 years, formerly of Beavertown, entered into rest at 3:28 a.m., Monday, November 14, 2016, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was born Dec. 28, 1948, in Plainfield, New Jersey, a son of the late Frederick DeHart and Dorothy (Quimby) Osman.  On Febuary 13, 1992, in Mifflinburg, he married the former Ruth A. Chappell, who survives.

Rick was a 1967 graduate of Mifflinburg High School, 1970 graduate of Williamsport Area Community College, and 1973 graduate of Union County Vo-Tech School, New Jersey.

He was employed as a tool maker at Textron-Lycoming, Williamsport, for 34 years until he retired.

Rick attended the Christ Wesleyan Church, Milton.

He was a member of the New Berlin Legion Post 957, West End Social Club, Millmont, the Union County Sportsmen’s Club, Weikert, and past member of the U.A.W. Local #787, Williamsport.

Rick enjoyed hunting, trout fishing, vegetable gardening, golfing, attending sporting events of his children and grandchildren, a lifelong Los Angeles Dodgers fan, socializing with people, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 25 years, are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Brian DeHart and Dr. Jessica Osman of Montoursville, Michael Scott and Shauna Osman of Millmont, and Nicholas Townsend Osman of New Berlin; one sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Greg Kasarda of Folsom, California; one brother and sister-in-law, James and Mindi Osman of Granite Bay, California; four grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Austin, Madeline, and Luke; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date.

Interment will be conducted privately at the Troxelville Cemetery.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Union County Sportsmen’s Club, 50 Sportsmens Club Lane, Millmont, PA 17845.

Funeral arrangements are by Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg.
