Richard Keith Collins, 90, of Muncy, entered into rest at 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at his home.
He was born February 3, 1934, in Meadow Grove, Nebraska, a son of the late Walter and Ila (Preston) Collins. On December 17, 1953, in Vancouver, Washington, he married the former Lila L. Vance, who preceded him in death April 10, 2021.
Richard served in the Air Force from November 24, 1952 until his honorable retirement December 1, 1972, where he was a flight engineer, pilot, and mechanic. He served in Germany and South East Asia during the Viet Nam Conflict, and for the Federal Protective Service on the United States and Mexican border.
Richard flew commercial freight throughout the world and was a ham radio operator.
He was an amazing father who loved his children and family unconditionally.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Ellis and Janelle Collins of Grand Island, Nebraska, and Rev. Richard and Edith Collins of Muncy; one daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Sharon Larson and Don Byerly of Harleysville; one sister, Betty Zierke of New Mexico; 11 Grandchildren; and 2 Great Granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Darlene Hill; two brothers, Warren and Jerry Collins; and one sister, Marge Karella.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 13, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, with Rev. Justin Lingenfelter, officiating.
Burial will be at a later date in the Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.
