Raymond P. Raker, 81, Mifflinburg

Raymond Paul Raker, 81, of 509 N. 3rd St., entered into rest at 9:04 a.m., Sunday, July 4, 2010, at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg.

He was born March 7, 1929, in Union County, a son of the late Ralph Raymond and Maude Blanche (Koons) Raker. On April 29, 1950, inSnydertown, he married the former Jean A. Graybill, who survives.

Raymond was employed at American Home Foods, Milton, for 38 years.

He enjoyed metal detecting, collecting old coins and bottles, going to the races in Selinsgrove, playing the banjo and harmonica, and deer hunting.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 60 years, are two sons and daughters-in-law, Allen and Vicki Raker of Iowa, and Steve and Tami Raker of Swengel; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Linda Owens of Iowa, Rose and Bill Arnold of New Columbia, Tina and Tom Septer of Iowa, and Sue Raker and her fiance' Kenny Trevitz of Winfield; one brother, Frank Raker of Mifflinburg; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Edna Bridge, Florence Feese, and Pauline Solomon; one granddaughter, Lisa Marie Owens; one great granddaughter, Avery Owens; and one son-in-law, Dennis Owens.

Family and friends are welcome from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Wednesday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m., with Rev. Brittin Stimeling, officiating.

Burial will be in the Hartleton Cemetery.
