Randy B. Kessler, 61, of Milton, entered into rest at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at The Gatehouse Hospice, Williamsport.
He was born April 30, 1964, in Danville, the youngest son of the late Richard C. and Joyce Kessler.
Preceded in death by his father, his father-in-law Donald D. Hagerman and nephew, Stewart Hagerman, Randy is survived by his loving husband, Doug Hagerman of Milton; his cherished mother, Joyce Kessler of Danville; his sister, Karen Dill of Greer, SC; his brother, Richard C. Kessler (Donna) of Danville; his mother-in-law, Jennie Hagerman of Turbotville; brothers-and sisters-in-law, Jim Hagerman (Lisa) of Williamsport and Donna Bennett (Gary) of McEwensville; along with many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and his beloved pup companions, Emmitt and Penny.
Randy was a graduate of Danville High School. He attended Bloomsburg University and later earned his bachelor’s degree in Business and Marketing from Penn State University, State College.
Following a lifelong career in retail operations and management, Randy retired from Macy’s in Wilkes-Barre in March of 2025.
Randy lived his life with his heart wide open. He was always ready to welcome friends and family into his life and home; he found joy in cooking in his perfectly organized kitchen, playing games, mixing a good cocktail, and serving as DJ on his circa ’80s–’90s Technics stereo, spinning vinyl from his extensive collection. Many cherished hours were spent at home, surrounded by those he loved and who loved him—gathered around the picnic table in spirited card games or relaxing by the fire, sharing laughter, quick comebacks, and his unforgettable, full-bellied laugh.
He possessed an encyclopedic memory for songs, movies, and television shows, often recalling exactly where you were and what you were doing five months, a year, or even thirty years ago.
After recently rediscovering a love for camping, Randy and Doug spent last summer traveling throughout Pennsylvania, making new friends and reconnecting with old ones.
He enjoyed attending auctions and browsing antique malls and vintage shops, always on the lookout for a missing Matchbox car, mid-century treasures, Christmas décor, and, especially, the perfect set of mixing bowls—Randy truly loved a good set of mixing bowls.
Sharing a lifelong passion for cars, Randy could spend hours talking cars especially with his father-in-law Don. Randy and Doug were always in pursuit of the next perfect car. A few years ago, while attending a car show in Carlisle with Rick, Randy found his Corvette. After a quick call to Doug—who promptly worked out the details—Randy bought it on the spot.
Randy became a member of Saint Paul’s @ The Farm in January of 2022. After retirement, Randy found great joy in devoting more time being with the church family. He loved serving Fresh Express Food bank and helping prepare the church house for Christmas.
Randy was always willing to help anyone in need. His generosity of spirit will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
“Yn ein calonnau am byth.” In our hearts forever.
