Patricia L. Smith

Patricia Lewis Smith, 93, of Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 9:34 p.m., January 27, 2026, at home, surrounded by her family.

She was born June 29, 1932, in Mifflinburg, a daughter of the late Hoyt F. and Nettie (Christman) Zimmerman. On June 9, 1951, in Mifflinburg, she married Kenneth L. Smith, who preceded her in death October 5, 2024.

Patricia was a 1950 graduate of Mifflinburg Area High School.

She worked at various jobs including at Tri-County Bank, Colonial Products, and retired from the Mifflinburg Area School District where she was an Administrative Assistant.

Patricia was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mifflinburg, where she was a member of the Lutheran Church Women.

She was a volunteer for MHRA and Herr Memorial Library.

Patricia enjoyed reading, walking, shopping, playing the piano, going to lunch with her neighborhood ladies, and attending her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sporting events.

Surviving are four sons and two daughters-in-law, Daniel and Anne Smith, Scott and Sue Smith, and Stephen “Fred” Smith, all of Mifflinburg and Sam Smith of New Berlin; one daughter and one son-in-law Elizabeth “Betsy” and Donnie Wickline of Prince George, Virginia; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and one sister, Doris Galer of Middleburg.

She was preceded in death by one brother, James Zimmerman; and two sisters, Jean Reading and Barbara Mullany.

Family and friends are welcome to a time of visitation from 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 4, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 404 Market St., Mifflinburg, where the memorial service will be conducted at 11, with Rev. Curt Wingert, officiating.

Private interment will be in the Mifflinburg Cemetery.

The Smith family would like to thank Karen, Linda G., Linda S., and Taunya for their exceptional care provided to Patricia over the past several years.
