MIFFLINBURG - Patricia Ann Duncan, 49, of 404 Thompson St. since 1982, entered into rest after a long illness at 11:06 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born Sept. 10, 1960, in New London, Conn., a daughter of the late Earl O. and Julia F. (Walter) Spickler. On Aug. 19, 1979, in San Antonio, Texas, she married Joe D. Duncan, who survives.
Patty attended the Stonington High School, Stonington, Conn.
She was proprietor of the Duncan Family Daycare, Mifflinburg, for over 25 years.
She was a very active member of the Christ Community Church, Glen Iron, where she served as Sunday school teacher, Caravan Director and Guide, and especially enjoyed organizing and conducting events. Patty was a member and past president of the Mifflinburg Hose Company Ladies Auxillary.
Patty enjoyed baking, cooking, crafts, decorating cakes, and teaching children about God. She loved the Lord and endeavored to show God's love to all in everything she did.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 30 years, are one daughter and son-in-law, Heidi L. and Jon Hagan of Pittsburgh; one son, Thomas J. Duncan, of Mifflinburg; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Victor and Vivian Straub, of Salem, Conn., and Benjamin E. Spickler and his companion Mary Anne Beaver, of Mifflinburg; five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Peggy Straub, of New London, Gail Neff, of Mystic, Conn., Karlene and Norman Gagnon and Loretta and John Bush, all of Sunbury, and Betty J. and William Standifer, Jr., of San Antonio.
Visitors may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, and before the time of service Saturday, at the Christ Community Church, 2746 State Route 235, Millmont, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Henry F. Dorman, officiating.
Contributions may be made to either the Christ Community Church, 2746 State Route 235, Millmont, PA 17845, or to the Mifflinburg Hose Company Ladies Auxillary, 325 Chestnut St., Mifflinburg, PA 17844.
