Orville L. Spangler, Jr., 56, of 8668 State Route 204, Winfield, for the past 36 years, entered into rest at 5:38 a.m., Saturday, December 24, 2016, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

He was born February 26, 1960, in Sunbury, a son of Orville L. Spangler, Sr. of Winfield, and Janet (Bailey) and Davey Wadeck of Selinsgrove.  On February 9, 1980, in the Messiah Lutheran Church, New Berlin, he married the former Denise R. Solomon, who survives.

Orville attended the Selinsgrove High School.

He was employed as a receiver at the Weis Markets Distribution Center, Milton, since 1979.

Orville was a member of the Union County Sportsmen’s Club, Weikert.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, sitting on the deck with his best buddy Smokey, his dog, and watching NASCAR and football.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 36 years, are one son, Scott O. Spangler of Winfield; one daughter and one son-in-law, Jackie R. Spangler and Earl “Buster” Rotharmel, Jr. of Bannerville; two grandchildren, Jeremy Oberlin and Amelia Spangle; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Peggy and Kenneth Reinard, and Christine and Kevin Kinney, all of Selinsgrove; two step brothers and step sisters-in-law, Steve and Mary Eaton of Selinsgrove, and Davey and Adrienne Wadeck of Northumberland; three step sisters and step brothers-in-law, Jill and Lynn  Shambach of New Berlin, Lisa and Doug Showers of Port Trevorton, and Debbie and Jimmy Herman of Northumberland  and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; Paul and Peg Spangler his maternal grandparents; Paul and Elsie Bailey and his step mother; P. Joan Spangler.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Christ Community United Methodist Church, 3939 Park Rd, Selinsgrove, with Pastor Randy Bennett, officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Union County Sportsmens Club, 50 Sportsmen's Club Lane, Millmont, PA 17845 or to the Christ Community United Methodist Church, 3939 Park Rd, Selinsgrove, PA 17870.

Funeral arrangements are by Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg.
