Olive P. Snyder, 87, Northumberland

Olive P. Snyder, 87, of 660 Hanover St., Northumberland, since 1965, entered into rest at 1:10 a.m., Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at the SUN Home Hospice Care Center, Sunbury.

She was born January 29, 1927, in Hartleton, the fourth of eight children, a daughter of the late Frank, Sr. and Edna (Boop) Printzenhoff. On November 23, 1955, she married Leon A. Snyder, who preceded her in death December 14, 2013.

Olive was a 1946 graduate of Mifflinburg High School. She worked several jobs after graduation, including a waitress at Travler's Inn, Lewisburg. There she met her husband, Leon, while he was a student at Bucknell University.

She was a homemaker from the time she married until her children were in high school. Olive then worked part-time as a waitress. Later in life, she volunteered at the Salvation Army Thrift Store, Sunbury.

Olive enjoyed traveling and spending time with her husband of 58 years. She also enjoyed playing bingo, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Laura and Garry Benfer of Mifflinburg, and Barbara and Steven Yoder of Lewistown; one sister, Carol Mischeck of Sunbury; one brother, Ronald Printzenhoff of Mifflinburg; and three grandchildren, Alicia and her husband Aaron Martin of Lititz, Jacqueline Benfer of Mifflinburg, and Evan Yoder of Lewistown.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Frank Printzenhoff, Jr.; and four sisters, Geraldine Bower, Dorothy Printzenhoff, June Pfleegor, and Marie Smith.

Family and friends are welcome from 1 to 2 p.m., Sunday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m., with Pastor James Taylor, officiating.

Burial will be in the Hartleton Cemetery.
