Norma Jean Catherman, 90, formerly of Lewisburg, entered into rest at 4:10 p.m., Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Rolling Hills Manor, Millmont.

She was born August 31, 1935, in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late Norman and Carrie (Bowersox) Kline. On June 21, 1953, she married Robert Benner, who preceded her in death November 11, 1990. On February 24, 1996, she married James Catherman, who survives.

Norma was a graduate of Milton High School.

She attended the Calvary Baptist Church, Mifflinburg.

Norma was employed at Sone’s Department Store, Vicksburg, Ben Franklin, Mifflinburg, and Mitterling’s Greenhouse, Lewisburg. She also worked alongside her husband, Robert, on their family farm.

She enjoyed singing in church, cooking Sunday meals for her family, canning and freezing food from her vegetable garden, baking pies, and spending time with children, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 29 years, are one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Joann Benner of Lewistown; one sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Danny Neitz of Lewisburg; one daughter-in-law, Lori Benner of Lewisburg; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Andrew and Amy Benner, Mary Benner, Loretta and Kris Bradley, Jayme Opdyke and her companion Ricky Hill, Courtney and Norm Moyer, Alisha and Luke Smith of Lewisburg, and Amy and Clint Morris; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephew, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by one son, Carson Benner; one daughter, Sandy Ritter; two sisters, Joyce Snyder and Gloria Yerg; one son-in-law, William Ritter; and one grandson, Shane Ritter.

Family and friends are welcome from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, January 3, at the Calvary Baptist Church, 332 E. Chestnut St., Mifflinburg, where the memorial will be conducted at 11, with Pastor Shawn McClain, officiating.

Burial will be at a later date in the Sunrise Cemetery, Lewisburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 332 E. Chestnut St., Mifflinburg, PA 17844.
