Noah A. Yoder, 89, of 755 Johnson Mill Road., for the past 34 years, entered into rest at 11:37 a.m., Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born September 29, 1924, in Belleville, a son of the late Abe S., Sr. and Saloma P. (Zook) Yoder. On November 20, 1947, in Belleville, he married the former Amanda N. Kurtz, who preceded him in death May 2, 2014.
Noah was a charter member of the Shady Grove Christian Fellowship, Mifflinburg, where he was a Sunday School teacher for many years.
Noah was one of the earliest organic farmers in the area. He loved reading the Bible, was a devoted husband caring of his wife of 66 years, and enjoyed visiting with family and many friends they entertained at their home.
Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ernest Yoder of Lewisburg, Ervin and Theda Yoder of Bemidji, Minnesota, and Kore and Miriam Yoder of Lewisburg; two daughters and sons-in-law, Alta and Sam Mullet of Sugarcreek, Ohio, and Martha and David Troyer of Mifflinburg; two brothers Kore Yoder, of Belleville; Benjamin Yoder, of Millersburg; and one sister-in-law Helen Yoder, of Belleville. 17 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by six brothers, John, Moses, Samuel, Abraham, Steven, and David Yoder; and four sisters Rachel Spicher, Annie Spicher, Fronie Yoder, and Mary Peachey; one grandson Benjamin Mullet; and two infant daughters.
Family and friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday, at the Shady Grove Christian Fellowship, 5327 Buffalo Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Monday, with officiating ministers, Simon Bender, David King, and Glen Yoder.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
