Millard D. "Moon" Boyer, 91, of Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 9:21 p.m., Monday, April 27, 2026, at Brookdale Grayson View, Selinsgrove.
He was born September 25, 1934, in Lewisburg, a son of the late Ralph and Myrtle (Hauck) Boyer. On August 4, 1957, at St. John's United Church of Christ, Mifflinburg, he married the former Linda Chambers, who preceded him in death in 2001.
Moon was a 1951 graduate of Mifflinburg High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Lock Haven University in 1960.
He served in the Air Force and was stationed in Edinburgh, Scotland, from 1952 until his honorable discharge in 1956.
Moon was a teacher in the Mifflinburg Area School District where he taught history and math in 5th through 7th grade from 1967 until he retired in 1990.
He was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mifflinburg.
Moon enjoyed painting, antiques, hunting, going out for coffee with his friends, and sports, especially baseball.
Surviving are three daughters, Bethanne Boyer, Wendy Sauers, and Amy Boyer; two grandchildren, Katy and her husband Bradley Wevodau and Ryan Sauers; and four great-grandchildren, Alaina, Silas, Benjamin and Caleb Wevodau.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Roy "Jake" Boyer, Earl "Curly" Boyer, Glen "Pete" Boyer, and G. Robert "Bob" Boyer; and two sisters, Elva Mae “Sis” Renshaw, and Jean Miller.
Family and friends are welcome from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, May 1, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 404 Market Street, Mifflinburg, where a celebration of life will be conducted at 11, with Rev. Curt Wingert, officiating.
Burial will be in Mifflinburg Cemetery, with military honors accorded by American Legion Post 410 and VFW Post 1964, both of Mifflinburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Geisinger Hospice, 74 Schoolhouse Road STE 104, Danville, PA 17821.
