Miles Matthew Maxfield, Sr., 81, of 1895 Penns Creek Rd., Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 9:18 p.m., Monday, October 19, 2020, at home.
He was born September 14, 1939, in Mifflinburg, a son of the late Frank and Estella (Finsterbush) Maxfield. On July 29, 1961, in the Forest Hill Church, Mifflinburg, he married the former Kathryn M. Boob, who survives.
Miles attended the Buffalo Valley Church of the Brethren, Mifflinburg.
He served in the Army from 1961 until his honorable discharge in 1964.
Miles was employed as a caregiver at the Selinsgrove State School and later in life as a driver at Rohrer Bus, Lewisburg.
He was a member of the Buffalo Valley Sportsmen’s Club, Mifflinburg.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 59 years, are three sons and one daughter-in-law, Miles M. Maxfield, Jr., Timothy L. Maxfield, and William A. and Michelle Maxfield, all of Mifflinburg; three daughters and one son-in-law, Kelly Thomas of Mifflinburg, Jennifer and Gerald Beck of Vicksburg, and Sarah Maxfield of New Jersey; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Helen Troxell, and Alma and Larry Foster, all of Mifflinburg; eight grandchildren, Joanna, Matthew, Daniel, Ariella, Rosa, Lexi, Nichole, and Greg; and one great granddaughter, Kahley.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Paul; and three sisters, Anna, Ethel, and Dorry.
A private graveside service will be conducted privately at the convenience of the family at the Buffalo Valley Church of the Brethren Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post 410 and VFW Post 1964, both of Mifflinburg.
