Mary Koonsman

June 3, 1953 — May 5, 2015

HARTLETON – Mary Jane Koonsman, 61, of 208 Water St., for the past 15 years, entered into rest at 2:15 p.m., Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

She was born June 3, 1953, in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late Orvis and Mary (Heeter) Crossgrove.  On June 26, 1971, in the Mifflinburg Assembly of God Church, she married Ronald W. Koonsman, Sr., who survives.

Mary was a 1971 graduate of Mifflinburg High School.

She was a member of the Assembly of God Church, Mifflinburg, for over 50 years.

Mary was employed in food service in the Mifflinburg Area School District for 26 years.

She enjoyed camping, baking, cooking, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  Mary was a very caring person, and loved her Lord.

Surviving in addition to her husband of nearly 44 years, are one son and daughter-in-law, Ron W., Jr. and Ann M. Koonsman of Millmont; one daughter and son-in-law, Stacy L. and Greg A. Boop of Millmont; six grandsons, Kevin and his wife Alyse Hommel, Dylan Hommel and his fiance Justina Koch, Preston Hommel, Bailey Koonsman, Bryce Koonsman, and Brady Koonsman, all of Millmont; two great grandchildren, Chloe and Callen Hommel, of Millmont; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Fern “Bill” and Nancy Crossgrove of Mifflinburg, and Roland “Butch” and Linda Crossgrove of Middleburg; one sister, Cora “Sis” Weller of Mifflinburg; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, William “Bill” Koonsman; one granddaughter, Brianna Hommel; one sister, Carrie “Bets” Hause; and one brother, Orvis Crossgrove.

Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, at the Assembly of God Church, 1001 Market St., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 10:30, with Pastor Johnny Blake, officiating.

Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery.
