Marion L. Chappell, 94, of Lewisburg, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025.
She was born on February 13, 1931, the daughter of Marcella (Schnure) Buoy and Phillip H. Buoy. Marion was a graduate of Mifflinburg Area High School, where she was a member of the girls’ softball team. She loved her horses and spending time on the farm. An avid bird watcher and passionate gardener, she also loved making clothing for her children and retired from Pennsylvania House after more than 20 years of dedicated service.
On July 30, 1952, Marion married the love of her life, Robert L. Chappell, and together they built their own home.
Marion loved her church and devoted many years to teaching Children’s Sunday School classes at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Lewisburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her brothers, Merrill and Donald Buoy; and her sister, Kittybelle Hosterman. Surviving is her sister, Marie “Barb” Kirby.
Marion deeply loved her children and grandchildren. She cherished family gatherings, where she shared her love of cooking and playing board games.
Surviving are her two sons and daughters-in-law, Craig Chappell and Margaret Yost, and Kevin and Tina Chappell, all of Winfield; four grandchildren and their spouses, Whitney and Tom Robenolt of Milton, Justin and Amanda Chappell of Lewisburg, Brandon and Becky Chappell of Lewisburg, and Jessica and Ethan Miller of Millmont; as well as great-grandchildren, Cliff and Bodhi, Madalynn and Henry, Bently, Savannah, and Levi , and Maxwell and Leo.
Family and friends are welcome from 1 to 2 p.m., Saturday, September 20, 2025, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 42 S. 4th St., Lewisburg, where the funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., with Rev. Ethan Shearer, officiating.
Burial will follow in Lewisburg Cemetery.
