Lynn Lowry

December 17, 1939 — May 17, 2015

LEWISBURG – Lynn W. Lowry, 75, of 220 Applewood Dr., formerly of New Holland and Millmont, was embraced by the Holy Spirit and followed the light, on Sunday, May 17, 2015, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was born December 17, 1939, in New Holland, a son of the late Robert E. Lowry and Margaret (Strohman) Wright. On April 17, 1978, he married the love of his life, the former Sharon Schwab, who survives.  They cherished their 37 years of marriage.

Lynn was a 1957 graduate of Garden Spot High School, New Holland.

He worked at New Holland Machinery, Shasta Trailers in South Carolina, Yorktowne Kitchens, Mifflinburg, and retired from Shippers Carline, Milton, in 2002.

Lynn was a member of Lincoln Chapel United Methodist Church, Laurelton.

He was a member of the Union County Sportsmen’s Club, Weikert, where he helped raise the fish.

Lynn enjoyed hunting, fishing, antiquing, gardening, reading, and cruising in his classic car, a 1987 Monte Carlo Areo Coup. He was proud of his Alma Mater and loved getting together with his classmates and attending the New Holland farm show.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 37 years, are one brother, Jeffrey Lowry of Lavonia; one sister, Lisa Wanner of New Holland; one step-sister, Kathy Barth of Lancaster; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by step-mother, Doris Lowry; step-father, Donald Wright; step-sister, Joy Kauffman; aunt Janet and uncle Rev. Park Ranck.

Family and friends are welcome to a time of visitation from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, June 6, 2015, at Lincoln Chapel United Methodist Church, Laurelton, where the celebration of life service will be conducted at 11, with Pastor Mike Wilson and Pastor Shirley Cornell, officiating and a celebration of life service will be conducted June 13, 2015, at Evangelical United Methodist Church, 276 W. Main Street, New Holland, at 1, with Pastor Rob Stippich and Pastor Shirley Cornell officiating.

Memorial gifts may be made to either the Trustees of Lincoln Chapel United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 156, Laurelton, PA 17835, or the Union County Sportsmen’s Club, Fish Program, 50 Sportsmen’s Club Lane, Millmont, PA 17845.

Funeral arrangements are by Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg.
