Louise Vonneida

October 21, 1944 — September 2, 2017

Louise “Mammaw” M. VonNeida, 72, of 308 Main St., Hartleton, since 1987, entered into rest at 8:56 a.m., Saturday, September 2, 2017, at her home, after a 17 year battle with cancer.

She was born October 21, 1944, in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late Melvin and Anna (Lucas) Marks.  On September 24, 1966, in Glen Iron, she married Robert “Chic” E. VonNeida, who survives.

She was a 1963 graduate of Lewisburg High School.

Louise was a member of the Mifflinburg Church of the Nazarene.

She was employed at the Shoe Factory, Milton, was a teacher as a missionary at El Mirage Christian School, Arizona, was a cook at Laurelton Elementary School, and was Post Master of the Laurelton Post Office.

Louise enjoyed collecting teapots, painting, canning, shopping at the Brant in Chincoteague Island, hanging out at the campfire, traveling to Chris and Connie’s beach house in Chincoteague Island.  She was everyone’s Mammaw, and loved spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving in addition to her husband of  50 years, are two sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Shelbi VonNeida of Harrisburg, and Christopher, Sr., and Connie VonNeida of Millmont; two daughters, Charity Bowersox of Hartleton, and Heather Kline of Missouri; 8 grandchildren, Christopher “C.J.” VonNeida, Jr., Dakota Kline, Austin VonNeida, Logan Kline, Ryan Bowersox, Landon Bowersox, Madison VonNeida, and Olivia VonNeida.

Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, and 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday, at the First Church of the Nazarene, 12 Market St., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11, with Rev. Wayne S. Krell, officiating.

Burial will be in the Montandon Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Hospice of Evangelical, 235 Hospital Dr., Lewisburg, PA 17837.

Funeral arrangements are by Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg.
