Lorraine Spickler

October 14, 1938 — June 15, 2017

Lorraine Faye (Bowersox) Spickler, of 205 Walnut St., Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 6:07 a.m., Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Elmcroft, Lewisburg, where she had been a resident since November.

She was born October 14, 1938, in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late Tennyson A. and Edna (Moyer) Bowersox.  On February 21, 1960, in Mazeppa, she married Harold K. Spickler, who preceded her in death February 25, 1981.

Lorraine was an active member of the Mifflinburg United Methodist Church. She had a long history of active involvement throughout her church life, including Sunday School teacher, choir member, organist, youth after school programming, and various church activities.

She was a 1956 graduate of Lewisburg High School.

Lorraine was employed at JPM Company, Lewisburg, for 45 years, until she retired in 2000.

Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Don Smith of Harrisburg; two grandchildren, Ryan Smith and Kierstyn Smith; one sister, Esther Leighow of Danville; and in-laws Don and Sondra Spickler of Carlisle, Jean Spickler of Mifflinburg, Priscilla Bowersox, of Lancaster, Ray Hollenbach, Lewisburg, and Bill Paige, Lewisburg, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Bowersox; and two sisters, Ethel Paige and Pearl Hollenbach.

Family and friends are welcome from 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, June 26th, at the Mifflinburg United Methodist Church, 279 Market St., where the funeral will be conducted at 11, with Rev. Shirley Cornell, officiating.

Burial will be in the Mifflinburg Cemetery.

The family requests no flowers.  Memorial gifts may be made to either, the Mifflinburg United Methodist Church, 279 Market St., Mifflinburg, PA 17844, Autism Speaks, 8035 McKnight Road; Suite 302, Pittsburgh, PA 15237, or the Mifflinburg Community Ambulance, 104 Chestnut St., Mifflinburg, PA 17844.
