LEWISBURG - Lois Opal Ventz, 89, formerly of Adrian, Michigan, entered into rest at 12:05 p.m., Monday, April 20, 2015, at Riverwoods, Lewisburg, where she had been a resident since 2007.

She was born March 14, 1926, in Adrian, Michigan, a daughter of the late Robert O. and Margaret A. (Meyers) Mitchell.   Lois lived most of her life on her parents family farm in Adrian, and also lived in Peoria, Illinois, and Burlington, Iowa.

Lois was a graduate of Adrian High School, Michigan.

She was active in her community and was a member of the Raisin Presbyterian Church, Holloway, where she served as treasurer and Sunday school teacher, and was a member of Session.

Lois was employed as a bookkeeper at Tucumseh Products, Adrian, for 30 years, until she retired in 1991.

In the 1970’s, she was a leader for Holloway Homemakers 4-H Club and the Lenawee County 4-H Service Club.

She was vice president of the Tecumseh Business and Professional Women’s Organization.  Lois was a volunteer at Bixby Hospital, Adrian, and the Herrick Hospital, Tecumseh.

Lois enjoyed doing needle work, including knitting, crocheting, quilting, and counted cross stitch.

Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Sallie A. and Brad Jordan of Winfield; one brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Juanita Mitchell of Adrian; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Harriet Johnston of Adrian, and Betty and Bob Ousterhout of Britton, Michigan; and one sister-in-law, Dorothy Mitchell-Brown of Blissfield, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert William Mitchell, and Charles Mitchell; and one sister, Lucille Williams.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Evangelical Hospice, 1 Hospital Dr., Lewisburg, PA 17837, or to a charity of donor’s choice.

Funeral services will be conducted privately at the convenience of the family in Adrian, Michigan.
