Larry A. Hackenberg, 79, of Millmont, entered into rest Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born April 19, 1946, in Lewisburg, a son of the late J. Nelson and Jane (Diehl) Hackenberg. On August 21, 1971, he married the former Gloria J. Kline, who survives.
Larry was a 1964 graduate of Mifflinburg High School.
He served in the Army for 26 years until his honorable discharge on September 21, 1990.
Larry was employed at the Kinney Shoe Factory, Beaver Springs, and Yorktowne, Mifflinburg, until he retired.
He was a volunteer as an E.M.T. for the West End Ambulance Company.
Larry enjoyed hunting and woodworking.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 54 years, are three sons and one daughter-in-law, William Mattern of McClure, Michael and Christine Lyman of Beavertown, and James Hackenberg of Punxsutawney; two daughters and one son-in-law, Valerie Mattern of Savannah, Georgia, and April Dawn and Greg Keister of Beavertown; and 9 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Michael S. Hackenberg; and one daughter, Erika Hackenberg.
Family and friends are welcome from 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 19, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Road, Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11, with Rev. John Yost, officiating.
Burial will be in the Dreisbach Church Cemetery, with military honors accorded by American Legion Post 410 and VFW Post 1964, both of Mifflinburg.
