L. Weaver

LEWISBURG – L. Arlene Weaver, 82, formerly of Middleburg, died in her home at 381 Hill School Road, at 10:02 a.m., Friday, October 2, 2015.

She was born May 15, 1933, in Columbiana, Ohio, a daughter of the late Ezra and Lulu (Shaum) Witmer.  On May 18, 1952 she married Howard E. Weaver, who preceded her in death January 20, 2015. In 1965 they moved from Columbiana, Ohio to their dairy farm on Walnut Acres Road, where Arlene's hours of service, and good cooking, helped the family farm run smoothly.

Arlene made a career of caring for her husband and five children, working together with her family raising tomatoes and strawberries, serving others in many ways, and being an exceptional grandmother.

Arlene was a member of the Millmont Mennonite Church.

Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ernest Weaver of Middleburg, James and Joy Weaver of Lewisburg, and Dan and Tina Weaver of Lewisburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and John Stoltzfus of Hillside, CO; and one daughter-in-law, Brenda Weaver of Millmont; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Warren and Lucille Witmer of Archbold, Ohio, and David and Joanna Witmer of Columbiana, Ohio; one sister and brother-in-law, Martha and John Bacher of Wolford, North Dakota; 24 grandchildren; and 50 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, John Weaver; one daughter-in-law, Lois Weaver; two brothers, Vernon and John Witmer; one sister, Anna Mary Weaver; and two great grand-children;

Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, and 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, at the Millmont Mennonite Church, 1250 Millmont Rd., where the funeral will be conducted at 11, Monday, with Dan Weaver, James Weaver, Nate Reiff, and David Swartzentruber, officiating ministers.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.
