Karlene M. Bilger, 21, Mifflinburg

Karlene Margaret Bilger, 21, of 1120 Green Ridge Rd., entered into rest at 12:46 p.m., Monday, December 13, 2010, in Worth Township, Centre County, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

She was born April 11, 1989, in Lewisburg, a daughter of Vanessa and David Swanseen of Mifflinburg, and Barry Bilger of Mifflinburg. Also surviving, is her sister, Kollie Bilger of Mifflinburg.

Karlene was a 2007 graduate of Mifflinburg Area High School, where she was a member of the choir, chamber choir, and played the trumpet in the marching band. She was a senior at Indian University of Pennsylvania, majoring in Human Resource Management, where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority.

She was employed at Villa Roma, Mifflinburg, and worked during the summer at Red Garter restaurant, Cedar Point, Ohio.

Karlene enjoyed volunteering at the Humane Society of Indiana County.

Surviving in addition to her parents and sister, are maternal grandparents Don and Carolyn Bowersox of Mifflinburg; paternal grandmother, Margaret Stutzman of Mifflinburg; step-grandmother, Betty Swanseen of Linwood, NJ; aunts and uncles, Carol and Rick Berry, Mindy newell, Charles A. Hill, Jr., Randy and Jackie Bilger, Karl and Deb Swanseen, Sandra Landis, and Bill and Sandy Swanseen; cousins, Austin, Marissa, and Aiden Newell, Electra Hill, Zane, Maggie, and Makenzie Bilger, and Kim, Jessie, and Sarah Swanseen; and her beloved cat, Pete.

She was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Charles A. Hill, Sr.; paternal grandfather, James D. Bilger, Jr.; and uncle Kenneth Bilger.

There will be no public viewing. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Karlene, will be conducted at 1 p.m., Saturday, at the Christ's United Lutheran Church, 13765 Old Turnpike Rd., Millmont, with Rev. John D. Yost and Pastor Richard L. DeVett, officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pennsylvania S.P.C.A. Danville Adoption Center , 2801 Bloom Rd., Danville, PA 17821.

Funeral arrangements are by Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg.
