June Booth

LEWISBURG - June M. Booth, 86, formerly of Willow Street, Pennsylvania, entered into rest at 1:57 p.m., Saturday, November 18, 2017, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

She was born October 16, 1931, in Lancaster County, a daughter of the late Clarence and Mae (Roland) Hess.  On June 18, 1949, she married Walter E. Booth, who preceded her in death February 13, 2000.  Together they celebrated 50 years of marriage.

June was a 1949 graduate of Quarryville High School.

June lived in Lancaster County most of her life until moving to Lewisburg in 2000 after the passing of her husband.

She faithfully attended Christ’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewisburg.

June volunteered at the Public Library of Union County for many years mending books.  She also volunteered at the Evangelical Community Hospital.

She worked for many years as secretary of the transportation department at Solanco High School, Quarryville.

June enjoyed shopping and loved her family and spending time with them. Christmas was always a special family time.  She loved her home and enjoyed decorating it for every season.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Tom and Sharon Booth of Lewisburg, Vicki and Ron Whitney of Williston, Vermont, and Richard and Sandy Booth of Millersville; two sisters: Ellen Lewis of Lampeter, and Diane Cordero of Hollywood, Florida; one brother, Marshall Hess of Quarryville; 7 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Serocki.

Family and friends are welcome to a time of visitation from 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, at the Christ’s Evangelical Lutheran church, 100 S. 3rd St., Lewisburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11, with Rev. William Petry, officiating.

Burial will be in the Sunrise Cemetery, Lewisburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Public Library of Union County, 255 Reitz Blvd., Lewisburg, Pa. 17837
