John Thomas, Jr.

MIFFLINBURG –John James Thomas, Jr., 52, of 2470 Forest Hill Rd., for the past 26 years, entered into rest at 7:57 a.m., Monday, March 30, 2015, at his home.

He was born May 11, 1962, in Lewisburg, a son of John J., Sr. and Anna L. (Geiswite) Thomas of Mifflinburg.  On April 15, 1989, in Mifflinburg, he married the former Kelly S. Maxfield, who survives.

John was a 1981 graduate of Mifflinburg High School.

He attended the Buffalo Valley Church of the Brethren, Mifflinburg, and the Mifflinburg Church of New Life.

John was in partnership with his father in the operation of Thomas’ Dairy Farm, Mifflinburg.

He enjoyed hunting, camping, playing games, grilling food, decorating his home for the seasons, helping his father prepare for auctions, and spending time with his family.

Surviving in addition to his parents, and wife of nearly 26 years, are one daughter and son-in-law, JoAnna and Brandon Segraves of Mifflinburg; one sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and David Pfleegor of Mifflinburg; many nieces and nephews; and his dog, Toby.

He was preceded in death by his niece, Tiffany Pfleegor.

Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, and from 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday, at the Buffalo Valley Church of Brethren, 46 Brethren Church Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11, with Pastor Eric Reamer and Pastor Butch Woolsey, officiating.

Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery.
