John J. Sam, Jr.

John J. Sam, Jr., 77, a lifelong resident of Williamsport, reposed in the Lord at 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at UPMC Williamsport.

He was born February 27, 1949 in Williamsport, a son of the late John J. Sam, Sr., and Eleanor M. (Stark).

John was a 1972 graduate of Williamsport Area Community College.

He was employed as a developer at Vannucci Foto and Video, Williamsport.

John was a faithful member of St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco Russian Orthodox Mission Church, Winfield and was previously a longtime-faithful member of Holy Cross Orthodox Church, Williamsport.

He is survived by his brother, Robert D. Sam, of Williamsport, and cousin Joanna and (husband) Larry Anderson of New York State.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026, at St. John of Shanghai & San Francisco Russian Orthodox Mission Church, 92 St. Johns Lane, Winfield PA 17889.

Burial will follow in St. John the Wonderworker Cemetery, Winfield.
