John E. Brown, 71, of Milton, entered into rest at 12:50 a.m., Sunday, May 3, 2026, at home.
He was born January 23, 1955, in Lewisburg, a son of the late Junior C. and Mary A. (Kerstetter) Brown. On June 18, 1978, he married the former Wendy Jo Lose, who survives.
John was a 1973 graduate of Milton High School.
He was employed as a carpenter at Bucknell University, for 43 years.
John was a member of the Montandon Baptist Church, where he served as trustee.
He was an avid archer and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, spending time outdoors, and gardening. John was a woodworker and cabinet maker and built many items in the community. He coached Twin County Midget Baseball in Montandon, for 20 years.
John loved spending time with his family and always had a beagle buddy, including his last dog, Copper.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 47 years, are two sons and daughters-in-law, Matthew S. and Tammy Brown of Milton, and Jeffrey A. and Melissa Brown of Selinsgrove; one daughter and son-in-law, Beth A. and Josh Fowler of Milton; one brother and sister-in-law, Herbert J. and Wendy Brown of Milton; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathryn “Sue” and Richard Gibbons of Milton, and Jeanne K. and Byron Sutton of Eldred; 8 grandchildren, Lucas Brown, Collin Brown, Kania Brown, Cora Fowler, Emily Fowler, Kaleigh Brown, Alexis Brown, and Crew Brown; and one great granddaughter, Lucy Maier.
Family and friends are welcome to a time of visitation from 11 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, May 6, at Montandon Baptist Church, 257 Main St., where the memorial service will be conducted at noon, with Pastor Ron Wagner, officiating.
Private burial will be in Montandon Cemetery.
