Janice Styer

July 28, 1933 — November 27, 2017

LEWISBURG – Janice Louise Styer, 84, of 417 Swartz Rd., since 1955, entered into rest at 3:55 a.m., Monday, November 27, 2017, at her home.

She was born July 28, 1933, in Berwick, a daughter of the late Thomas Eugene and Miriam (Herring) Hill.  On September 10, 1954, in Berwick, she married Howard Francis Styer, who preceded her in death August 24, 2013.

Janice was a 1951 graduate of Berwick High School, a 1954 graduate of Geisinger Memorial Hospital Nursing School, and a 1974 graduate of Bloomsburg University.

She was employed as a registered nurse at the Laurelton Center for 22 years, until she retired in 1994.

Janice was a member of the Mifflinburg Alliance Church.

She enjoyed traveling with her husband and her children and spending time with all of her family.

Surviving are five sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Robert and Margaret Styer, of Havertown, William and Dixie Styer, of Red Lion, Daniel and Susan Styer, of Lewisburg, David and Wendy Styer, of Levittown, and Dr. Eugene and Debra Styer, of Richmond, Kentucky; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Donald Hill of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, and Thomas and Dorothy Hill of Bristol, Rhode Island; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Elizabeth and George Downing of Huntington Mills, Carol and Virgil Plymale of Kissimmee, Florida, and Judith Hunter of Kissimmee, Florida; one sister-in-law, Mearlyn Hill of Kissimmee, Florida; 19 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Louise Styer, in 1960; one brother, Rollin Hill; and two sisters, Evelyn Swank and Miriam Hutton.

Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, and 10:30 to 11 a.m., Thursday, at the Mifflinburg Alliance Church, 80 Church Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11, with Rev. Donald L. Hewlett, officiating.

Burial will be in the Mazeppa Union Cemetery.
