Janet L. Smith, 92, of Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 12:22 p.m., Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Rolling Hills Manor, Millmont.
She was born October 20, 1933, in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late Charles and Eileen (Sechman) Bowersox. On March 1,1953, she married Robert E. Smith, who preceded her in death June 13, 2021.
Janet was a 1951 graduate of Mifflinburg High School.
She was a faithful member of the Mifflinburg United Methodist Church.
Janet was employed at J.P.M. Co., Lewisburg, and Quaker Manufacturing, Lewisburg.
Janet enjoyed her flower gardens, reading, crocheting, sewing, family gatherings, jigsaw puzzles, and playing dominos. She was known for her delicious baked goods, specifically her sticky buns, cookies and pies. Janet enjoyed attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting events.
Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ernie and Tina Smith of Mifflinburg, Craig Smith and his significant other Lana of Millheim, and Kerwin and Loraine Smith of Warren; 11 grandchildren and their spouses, Nick Smith and Courtney of South Williamsport, Brett Smith and Jamie of Mifflinburg, Kyle and Kirsten Smith of Lewisburg, Ashley and Steve Troup of Lewisburg, Stephanie and Matt Drach of Newfoundland, Michael and Ashley Smith of Lewisburg, Cole Breon of Spring Mills, Danielle and Tyler Scull of Maryland, Cheylee and Matt Burlew of Mechanicsburg, Avery Smith and fiancé Sarah of Warren, and Aubrey Smith of Fairbanks, Alaska; and 15 great-grandchildren, Julissa and Tierani Smith, Adalyn Smith, Skyler Heimbach, Brody Smith, Hudson, Vivian and Miles Troup, Oliver and Charlie Drach, Blair and Quinn Smith, Sylvia and Elowen Scull, and Amelia Burlew; one brother, Ronald Bowersox of Mifflinburg; two sisters, Glenda Pontius of Milton, and Kathy Virchick of Mifflinburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, John Bowersox.
Family and friends are welcome from 10 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 8, at Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Road, Mifflinburg, where the funeral service will be conducted at 11, with Pastor Rebecca Cuddeback and Rev. Ronald Warfle, officiating.
Burial will be in Mifflinburg Cemetery.
