Janet D. Pursel

Janet D. Pursel, 71, formerly of New Columbia, entered into rest at 6:15 a.m., Friday, April 12, 2024, at Watsontown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born May 1, 1952, in Mifflinburg, a daughter of the late Bruce and Lillie (Ulrich) Miller.

Janet attended Mifflinburg High School and graduated from Danville School of Nursing.

She was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse and earlier in life worked at I.G.A., Mifflinburg.

Janet enjoyed bowling, going out to eat, singing gospel music, and going to Knoebel’s Amusement Park.

Surviving are one son, Roger Keister, Jr. of Mifflinburg; one daughter, Melody Keister of White Deer; five sisters and one brother-in-law, June Rowe of Watsontown, Betty Wallace of Mifflinburg, Arlena Kratzer of Selinsgrove, Christine Kratzer of Selinsgrove, and Roberta and Gerald Erdley of Lewisburg; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Kenneth, Robert, Larry, and Clair Miller; and two sisters, Regina Reichelderfer and Loretta Smith.

Funeral services will be private.
