James J. "Pop" Yoder, 68, Lewisburg

James J. "Pop" Yoder, 68, of Lewisburg, died at 6:03 a.m., Thursday, July 29, 2010, at his earthly home of apparent heart failure and has gone to his eternal reward.

He was born Dec. 24, 1941, in Walnut Creek, Ohio, son of the late Jacob and Orpha (Troyer) Yoder. He received Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Saviour at the age of seventeen and loved and served his Lord. On Aug. 3, 1963, he married Ruth R. Mullet, who survives.

Pop was an active member and Pastor of Christian Believers Fellowship, Lewisburg. He will be greatly missed by his wife, family, church family, and those he loved.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 47 years are five children and their spouses, Nathan and Sadie Yoder, Martha and Marvin Peachey, Timothy and Lois Yoder, Dorcas Yoder, and Linus Yoder, all of Lewisburg; seven siblings and their spouses, Edith and Andy Mullet of Texas, Albert and Marie Yoder of South Carolina, Edwin and Mary Lou Yoder of Ohio, Robert and Cindy Yoder of Ohio, Fran and Ivan Miller of Florida, Sarah and Vernon Miller of Ohio, and Hannah and Tom Bitticker of Ohio; and 17 grandchildren all of Lewisburg.

Family and friends are welcome from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, at Shady Grove Christian Fellowship Church, 5327 Buffalo Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m., Sunday, with Aaron Peachey, Bob Peachey, David Alspaugh, and Andrew Mullet, officiating.

Burial will follow at the Christian Believers Fellowship Church cemetery, Colonel John Kelly Rd., Lewisburg.
