MIDDLEBURG – James “Jimmy” “Pappy” E. Shallenberger, 48, of 742 Chestnut Hill Rd., for the past four years, entered into rest Thursday, December 21, 2017, at his home.
He was born January 4, 1969, in Wilkinsburg, a son of the late Van E. and Tanya L. (Petrovich) Shallenberger. On May 27, 2006, he married the former Tammy L. Sweitzer, who survives.
Jimmy was a 1986 graduate of Mifflinburg Area High School.
He was employed at Lehigh Gas in maintenance and fuel systems.
Jimmy attended the Lauver’s United Methodist Church, McClure.
He was a member of the West End Ambulance and Fire Company, Millmont.
Jimmy enjoyed fishing, gardening, watching the Philadelphia Eagles, his dog Reva, joking with his family and friends, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are three daughters and one son-in-law, Elicia M. Shallenberger and Jeffrey L. Wise of Lewisburg, Erika A. Shallenberger of Lewisburg, and Nicole R. Beachel and her companion John Tate of McClure; one son and daughter-in-law, Joshua M. and Amy Beachel of McClure; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Alan E. and JoAnn Shallenberger of Milton, and Bruce E. and Lucinda Shallenberger of Lewisburg; one sister and brother-in-law, Judith Ann and Michael Walter of Millmont; 8 grandchildren; mother-in-law, Audrey Sweitzer of Lewistown; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Mark Shallenberger.
Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 p.m., Thursday, December 28th, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where a the funeral service will be conducted at 4, with Pastor James Jacobs, officiating.
