James D. Kell

James “Jim” D. Kell, Jr., 81, of Mt. Pleasant Mills, entered into rest at 11:17a.m., Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

He was born July 23, 1942, in Harrisburg, a son of the late James, Sr. and Florence (Wachtman) Kell. In 2004, he married the former Barbara Parkhurst, who survives.

He was a 1961 graduate of Steelton-Highspire High School.

Jim spent four years in the U.S. Navy before owning and operating an office machine business.

He enjoyed golf, watching the Philadelphia Eagles, and doing sit-ups. Between his 20s and 70s, he did 1000 sit-ups everyday.

Jim was a member of the Juniata Saddle Club.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 20 years, are one son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Sue Kell; one daughter and son-in-law, Dani and Dave Louer; one step-daughter, Bonnie Adams; one brother, Richard Kell; and five grandsons, Ethan, Adam, Josh, Jake, and Jordan.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Dawn Kell Stahl.

Services will be private.
