Geneva A. Chambers

Mifflinburg

Geneva Arlene Chambers, 94, formerly of Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 5:43 p.m., Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Riverwoods, Lewisburg, where she resided since 2007.

She was born August 11, 1929, in Mifflinburg, a daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Lillie Agnes (Stetler) Troup. On September 25, 1946, she married Benjamin Caldwell Chambers, Jr., who preceded her in death December 23, 2003.

Geneva was employed at Milton Wood Products for 17 years, and Par-Knit Silk Mill, Mifflinburg, for 10 years until she retired in 1982.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Mifflinburg, where she served as a deacon.

Geneva enjoyed traveling with her husband, and they achieved visiting all 50 states.  She also enjoyed playing cards with friends, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Clarence “Tub” and Suzanne Chambers of Mifflinburg, and Gary and Linda Chambers of Mifflinburg; one sister, Ruth Zimmerman of Mifflinburg; four grandchildren and their spouses, Brian and Teresa Chambers of Mifflinburg, Vicki and Sam Stea of Cogan Station, Julie and Ken Berge of New Berlin, and Laura Chambers of Mechanicsburg; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Clarence, Harold, Marlin, Carl, and Donald Troup; three sisters, Miriam Klingler, Katherine Zimmerman, and Jane Troup; and one great-great grandson, Abel.

Family and friends are welcome to a time of visitation from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, February 23, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11, with Pastor Doug Orbaker, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Mifflinburg Cemetery.

The Chambers family would like to thank the Hospice of Evangelical and Riverwoods staff for their compassionate care.
