Gary W. Walter

Gary W. Walter, 78, of Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 7:11 p.m., Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at home, surrounded by his family.

He was born September 29, 1947, in Lewisburg, a son of the late Cloyd D., Jr. and Ramona (Belford) Walter. On July 5, 1968, in Turbotville, he married the former H. Marlene Knarr, who survives.

Gary was a 1965 graduate of Lewisburg High School and in 1968 earned his Associate’s Degree at Thompson Institute, Harrisburg.

He was employed as a Sales Representative at Lewis Industrial Supply Co., Harrisburg, for 54 years.

Gary served as a C.W.O. in the PA Army National Guard from 1968 until 1992.

He was a Deputy Waterways Conservation Officer for the PA Fish and Boat Commission for 40 years.

Gary was a member and past Worshipful Master of the Free & Accepted Masonic Lodge 370, Mifflinburg, Williamsport Consistory where he received his 33rd degree, and many other masonic organizations.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, and watching baseball.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 57 years, are two daughters and sons-in-law, Kelly and Nate Seigel of Mifflinburg, and Jan and Jeff Kanagy of Reedsville; 5 grandchildren, Aaron Kanagy, Bryn Kanagy, Ryan Kanagy, Dylan Seigel, and Logan Seigel; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Colby and Judy Walter of Lewisburg, and Greg and Dora Walter of Lewisburg.

Family and friends are welcome to a visitation from 5:30 to 7 p.m., Monday, March 2, at Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Road, Mifflinburg, where the masonic service conducted by Mifflinburg Masonic Lodge #370 and memorial service start at 7.
