Freida Swanger

Freida I. Swanger, 83, of 201 E. Market St., Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 10:10 a.m., Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at UPMC, Williamsport.

She was born June 8, 1937, in Mifflinburg, a daughter of the late Clarence and Adaline (Erb) Aikey.  On October 10, 1953, in Mazeppa, she married Robert W. Swanger, who preceded her in death August 13, 2010.

Freida was employed at Yorktowne, Mifflinburg, for many years.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Robin Swanger of Weikert; three daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Karl Ross, Virginia and Carl Gilbert, and Debra and Mike Weller, all of Mifflinburg; 7 grandchildren, Amy Weller, Travis Ross, Philip Gilbert, Brad Gilbert, Christina Klinefelter, Derek Swanger, and Matthew Swanger; one brother, Clarence “Sunny” Aikey of Mifflinburg; 8 great-grandchildren, Kari Ann, Alexis, Lydia-Kay, Bekki, Melody, Colin, Annika, Madeson, and Clair; and two great-great grandchildren, Wyatt and Felicty.

She was preceded in death by one son in infancy, Robert Clarence Swanger.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m., Tuesday, December 22, at the Forest Hill Cemetery, Mifflinburg, with Pastor Ron Wagner, officiating.
