MIFFLINBURG - Freida W. Boyer, 88, of 171 Shelly Lane, since 2004, formerly of State Route 304, entered into rest at 2:43 a.m., Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
She was born September 23, 1926, in Buffalo Township, a daughter of the late Harold E. and Pearl M. (Berger) Wenrich. On January 17, 1948, in the Hartleton Lutheran Church, she married G. Franklin Boyer, who preceded her in death June 23, 2012.
Freida was a 1942 graduate of Mifflinburg High School.
She was a member of the Emmanuel United Church of Christ, New Berlin, where she was a member of the women's guild.
Earlier in life, Freida was employed at Huntington Throwing Mills, Mifflinburg. She served as Tax Assessor in Limestone Township for 8 years.
She enjoyed embroidering and quilting for her family and friends.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Gary E. and Rhonda D. Boyer of Mifflinburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda M. and John R. Bowersox of Maryville, Missouri; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, David and Shirley Wenrich of Beavertown, Ben Wenrich of Mifflinburg, and Fred and Shirley Wenrich of Mifflinburg; four sisters and one brother-in-law, Darlene and Ronald Ulrich of Mifflinburg, Nancy Klinepeter of Paxtonville, Dorothy Ferguson of Beaver Springs, and Rose Wenrich of Danville; 5 grandchildren and their spouses, Faith and Ty Brininger of Mifflinburg, Kip and Leslie Boyer of Lewisburg, Christine and Todd Jones of Hale, Missouri, Lynn and Linda Bowersox of Burlington, Texas, and Paula and Eric Nordby of Bellevue, Nebraska; and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, Harold E., Jr., Donald W., William C., Charles K., Dale W., and Jerry F. Wenrich; and two sisters, Betty Mae Wenrich, and Eva W. Kline.
Family and friends are welcome from 12:30 to 2 p.m., Friday, at the Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 326 Market St., New Berlin, where the funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m., with Pastor Jim Cope, officiating.
Burial will be in the New Berlin Cemetery.
