Florence L. Showers, 90, Mifflinburg

Florence Lena Showers, 90, of 335 Hickory St., since 1946, entered into rest at 10:38 a.m., Sunday, January 16, 2011, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

She was born April 23, 1920, in Mifflinburg, a daughter of the late Addison Earl and Laura Jane (Boop) Campbell. In 1941, she married Norman Samuel Showers, who preceded her in death January 17, 1944.

Florence was employed at Chef Boyardee, Milton, for many years.

She loved sharing time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed singing while on her porch swing and cardinals.

Surviving are one daughter, Gloria Jean Poust of Mifflinburg; three grandchildren, Jeannie N. and her husband Timothy Sommers of Montgomery, Robert D. Poust and his companion Billie Jo Raker of Mifflinburg, and Florence J. Poust of Mifflinburg; and three great grandchildren, Alexa R. Dunkle, Nathan Z. Poust, and Alisa R. Poust.

She was preceded in death by her life companion, Eugene R. Renn; three brothers, Earl J., Walter A., and Louis L. Campbell; and two sisters, Catherine C. Grove, and Evalene L. Aikey.

Funeral services will be conducted privately at the convenience of the family.

Funeral arrangements are by Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg.
