Faye Lyons

MIFFLINBURG – Faye K. Lyons, 93, of 204 Mifflin Place, entered into rest at 6:45 p.m., Monday, December 5, 2016, at her home.

She was born May 2, 1923, in Hartley Township, a daughter of the late William and Florence (Zimmerman) Strickler.  On November 26, 1949, in Maryland, she married LaRue W. Lyons, who preceded her in death, September 3, 1970.

Faye attended the Hartley Township High School.

She was a member of the Mifflinburg United Methodist Church.

Faye was employed at varies clothing factories in the Mifflinburg area from 1965 until 1977.  She owned and operated the Soup Bowl, Mifflinburg, from 1977 until 1981.  Faye worked for the Union County Red Cross for 25 years, and was awarded the Clara Barton Award for her service.  She helped work at the Haney Park concession stand for many years, and also volunteered for the Mifflinburg Ambulance.

Surviving are five sons and daughters-in-law, Forest and Denise McClintock of Mifflinburg, LaRue, Jr. and Jeanie Lyons of Millmont, Randy and Joan Lyons of Millmont, Douglas and Roxanne Lyons of Millmont, and Les and Tiffany Lyons of Mifflinburg; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Henry Bartolo of Mifflinburg, and Cindy and Stanley Pfirman of Middleburg; one brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Pearl Strickler of Glen Iron; one sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Leon Klock of Herndon; 19 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sons, Carl McClintock, Paul McClintock, and Gordon Lyons; one daughter, Sandy Aikey; one brother, Tommie Strickler; one sister, Grace Mabus; 3 grandchildren, Shannon McClintock, Heather Lyons, and Carla McClintock; and one great grandson.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, with Rev. Harry Harter, officiating.

Interment will be in the Lincoln Chapel Cemetery, Laurelton.
